Experienced e-commerce seller on Amazon and Meesho — primarily in the footwear category. After watching shipping charges eat into margins month after month, I realised Meesho's volumetric weight algorithm cared more about the product image than the actual box. So I built MeeShip — first to fix my own listings, then to share it with other sellers facing the same invisible tax.
Why MeeShip exists
Meesho determines your shipping cost based on the volumetric weight estimated from your product image — not the actual weight of what's in the box. For lightweight products like footwear, kurtis, or accessories, this can mean paying for a 1 kg slab when your product weighs 300 g. That's ₹25–50 lost per order. Multiply by a few thousand orders a month and the number gets painful fast.
The official solution is "use better photos". What actually works is harder: the photo has to be cropped, angled, and composed in a very specific way that the algorithm reads as "low volume". MeeShip uses AI to generate that exact image, automatically.
